Thank you for visiting the my website.   This website is here to present my work as a Technical Communications Consultant for the convenience of prospective clients.

I am an experienced technical writer based in Dexter, Michigan, who formerly operated the Communications department for an engineering firm.  I recently completed a project for the Veteran's Administration's National Center for Patient Safety, which involved authoring a WebHelp online help system and a computer-based training program. I have thirteen years experience in technical communications and hold a Certificate in Technical Writing from Clemson University.

I have both practical and academic experience in project management. I also have extensive experience in researching and authoring compliance documents for Federal, State, and local agencies, including Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, US Army Corps of Engineers, and the departments of transportation for Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Maryland, and Virginia. I have frequently instructed client personnel in effective communication practices and in the use of software tools. I also have some experience in college-level teaching.

I am experienced at working with HTML and I have extensive experience with several software packages, including Microsoft Office, Visio, Project 2003, and FrontPage 2000; Flare; QuarkXpress; Adobe RoboHelp 7, Framemaker 8, Acrobat, Presenter, Captivate, and PhotoShop, Paint Shop Pro, and Spider Writer 5.2. I also have experience with Author-IT V4.
